Due to changes by the Ministry of Health, we will no longer provide follow up of results by phone. In person visits will be required to discuss your results.

Due to high patient volumes, we experience extreme difficulty accommodating walk-in patients without a scheduled appointment.
Please book online ASAP to secure an appointment.

NO SHOW/CANCELLATION/LATE POLICY

To improve access and reduce serial no-shows and late arrivals to our clinic, Nixon Walk-In Clinic has implemented a no-show/cancellation/late fee of $35. If you book an appointment, and fail to notify us of a cancellation at a minimum of 1 hour from your appointment, you will need to pay $35 before your next visit. The patient agrees to this at time of booking.

Appointments are made available up to 24 hours in advance only

Why is it so hard to book an appointment?

We have 2 walk-in physicians working most days, and some days we have 3 physicians. On some days, we see over 100 patients in our walk-in clinic.

  • London is an under-serviced area with fewer than needed family doctors. Many patients who do not have family doctors use the walk-in for ongoing medical issues and this often means our appointments fill up quickly.

  • London has seen many doctors retire, and others have closed their practices and moved to different cities.

  • Many patients who have family doctors have been using our walk-in clinic, in place of their family practice after-hours clinic. This may be due to timeliness but is often due to convenience. We treat everyone without prejudice, regardless of whether they have a family doctor, but this places strain on our available appointments. We think patients who have family physicians should only use walk-in clinics in the case of urgent medical issues when they cannot get to their family doctor in a timely fashion. This would free up appointments for those without family doctors. We will see everyone, however, regardless of whether they have a primary care provider or not.

  • We cannot keep people out of emergency rooms when our appointment slots fill up because people are double doctoring (have a family doctor and use our walk-in clinic for a non-urgent issue).

  • Please be kind to our office staff; it is not their fault that our clinic is full for the day, or that healthcare is frankly broken. We understand your frustration with the healthcare experience in Ontario, but please do not take it out on our staff. You cannot imagine the abuse they experience every day. Please be kind.
